Sri Lathangi Vidhya Mandir School was started to serve the cause of education to students of Pollachi in 1996.

The inaguration of the school was a simple formal function with K.R.R.Ramesh Raj Kumar, Secretary of the school, introducing the new school to the public as the institution aiming to impart education.
